1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using InkEthos, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use InkEthos. You must be at least 18.
2. What InkEthos is
InkEthos is software for tattoo artists to keep records: bookings, client files, consent forms, photos, portfolio, payments and tax estimates. It is a recordkeeping tool only. It does not provide medical, legal, tax or financial advice, and nothing in the app should be treated as such advice.
3. Your account
Keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access.
4. Plans, trial and billing
- Solo: $29/month, starting with a 14-day free trial. Existing Studio subscribers keep $79/month; the Studio plan is closed to new sign-ups while multi-artist workspaces are being built.
- After the trial, your card is charged monthly through Stripe until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from Billing in the app. You keep access until the end of the paid month. We don't give refunds for partial months unless required by law.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice.
5. Your data and your clients' data
You own the data you put into InkEthos. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is stored, who can see it, and how to delete it.
6. Artist responsibilities
As the artist, you are responsible for:
- Consent before upload. Getting each client's permission before you upload their photos or record their health information. This includes clear consent for photos of intimate or graphic body areas, such as the chest, breast or genital area.
- Not posting a client's photos publicly without their permission.
- Reviewing each client's disclosures and deciding for yourself whether it is safe to tattoo them.
- Checking ID and age as your local law requires.
- Holding any licenses, permits and health-department approvals your work requires, and keeping records as long as they require.
- Following privacy laws that apply to you and your clients.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use InkEthos for anything illegal, to upload content without the pictured person's consent, to upload sexual content involving minors (we will report it), to harass anyone, or to break or overload the service.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account any time from Profile → Danger Zone. We may suspend accounts that break these Terms.
9. Disclaimers
Tax calculator and estimates
The tax calculator, set-aside figures and any other tax or income numbers in InkEthos are for general estimation only. They are not tax advice, may be inaccurate or out of date, and do not account for your full situation. InkEthos is not responsible for any errors in these figures or for any decision you make, payment you make or penalty you incur based on them. Talk to a licensed tax professional before filing or paying taxes.
Tattoo work
InkEthos does not perform, supervise or approve tattoo work. Artists using InkEthos are independent and are not our employees or agents. InkEthos is not responsible for any tattoo work performed by any artist, including its quality, safety, healing or outcome.
Medical information
InkEthos does not give medical advice and does not review health disclosures. InkEthos is not responsible for any medical condition, medication, allergy, pregnancy or other health fact a client did not disclose, or disclosed inaccurately, or for any reaction or injury that results. Clients with health concerns should talk to a doctor before getting tattooed.
No legal or financial advice
Consent form templates, blog articles and other content are general information. They are not legal advice. Check your local laws and health-department rules.
Service "as is"
InkEthos is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost — keep your own exports and backups.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, InkEthos and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover our costs if a claim is brought against us because of your tattoo work, the data you uploaded, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by California law. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. If changes are important, we'll tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use InkEthos means you accept the updated Terms.
